Pollination :this is the transfer of pollen grain from anther to the stigma if a flowering plant.Without pollination in flowering plant there will be no fruit.pollination involves the transfer of male plant gamate(stamen)POLLEN GRAIN FROM THE ANTHER TO THE STIGMA.We have two types of pollination namely;

  • Self pollination and
  • cross pollination
  • SELF POLLINATION:This is the type if pollination where by a plant contain both male and females gamate on these plant and both the pollen grain and the stigma mature at the same type…Note : if a plant is protandrious it can self pollinate.
  • CROSS POLLINATION: THIS is the type if pollination that envolves an agent Ti help carry out the operation… agents like bee,butterfly,wind ,etc.here one plant will carry the make gamate and the other will carry the male gamate which den needs an agent to help them carry the transfering work.
  • CHARACTERISTICS IF A SELF POLLINATED FLOWER:
  • the polling grain is always heavy.
  • the always have a long style .
  • the pollen grain and the ovum mature at desame time.
  • Some lacks corolla
  • some are not sainted
  • CHARACTERISTICS OF A CRISS POLLINATED FOLLOER:
  • ITs always sainted
  • it have a beautified corolla to attract insects.
  • pollin grain are always light.Etc.
  •          Note:plants can’t do without pollination.its away of the fertilization. I will lik to drop my Biro here for now…thanks for reading my tut,remain blessed…………….sign Mr. Gabriel.
